That was one of those rare films that performed quite well commercially ($228 million worldwide), but was loved by absolutely no one. For the sequel, Nicolas Cage returns, but the entire creative team has changed, the rest of the cast has been changed up, and one imagines the film won't rely on too many references to that past movie. Oddly, the thing I remember most about Ghost Rider is how the demonic flames would rise up from under a clean, undisturbed black t-shirt.

Crank and Gamer directorial duo Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor take their first crack at an actual comic book movie here, and they'll no doubt bring some kinetic camerawork and assorted craziness to the table. With Cage as Johnny Blaze, the rest of the cast is an eclectic bunch that includes Idris Elba, Violante Placido, Johnny Whitworth, Anthony Head, Fergus Riordan, Christopher Lambert, and Ciaran Hinds as the devil.
Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance hits theaters on February 17th, almost five years to the day after Ghost Rider.
