The image, which debuted at the official Skyfall Facebook page, offers up the most grizzled Bond since Pierce Bronson's ridiculous Robinson Crusoe shag in Die Another Die (acquired over a long imprisonment in North Korea).

American Beauty director Sam Mendes is the latest director to take on Ian Fleming's globe-trotting spy, and his involvement alone promises something more interesting and compelling than the dramatically flaccid Quantum of Solace. The baseline script was written by frequent Bond scribes Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, but overhauled by The Aviator and Gladiator writer John Logan.
Daniel Craig is joined once again by Judi Dench, with Javier Bardem as the latest villain to face off against Bond. The rest of the new cast includes Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Berenice Marlohe, Ben Whishaw, and Albert Finney.
Skyfall is set to arrive in American theaters on November 9th.
*That last image landed online through Empire, so maybe the idea here is that this is the first officially official still released direct from the filmmakers?
