'Wrath of the Titans' Images: Andromeda Throws Down

Wrath of the Titans has a lot to prove, considering the response to its predecessor, 2010's Clash of the Titans.  That film made plenty of money worldwide, but wasn't terribly well-liked by damn near anyone and became an example of rushed, unnecessary post-conversion 3D.  For the sequel, quite a bit has been changed up.

Several actors, led by Sam Worthington, are back in the monster-filled action spectacle, but the director is new and a whole slew of actors are fresh additions as well.  One of them is Rosamund Pike, who relaces Alexa Davalos in the role of Andromeda.  You can see the new Andromeda throwing down in a new image from Wrath of the Titans, along with two others featuring the newly hirsute Worthington as indomitable warrior Perseus.

All three of these new images debuted today at Kino Gallery, and you click over in that direction to find huge, high quality versions that show off the full glory of Worthington's flowing locks.

Jonathan Liebesman, whose feature credits consist of Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning and last year's Battle Los Angeles, takes over as director, and is apparently taking a grimier, more rough and tumble approach to the second adventure of Perseus.  Despite the changes, though, the sequel will be post-converted to 3D just like last time.  Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes, and Danny Huston are all back as Greek Gods, and they're joined by the likes of Bill Nighy and Edgar Ramirez, with Toby Kebbell and Lily James playing mortals.

You might want to pick up some Rogue 3D Eyewear before Wrath of the Titans arrives in 3D on March 30th.  Until then, check out this official synopsis from Warner Bros:

A decade after his heroic defeat of the monstrous Kraken, Perseus (Worthington) –the demigod son of Zeus (Neeson)–is attempting to live a quieter life as a village fisherman and the sole parent to his 10-year old son, Helius. Meanwhile, a struggle for supremacy rages between the gods and the Titans. Dangerously weakened by humanity’s lack of devotion, the gods are losing control of the imprisoned Titans and their ferocious leader, Kronos, father of the long-ruling brothers Zeus, Hades (Fiennes) and Poseidon (Huston). The triumvirate had overthrown their powerful father long ago, leaving him to rot in the gloomy abyss of Tartarus, a dungeon that lies deep within the cavernous underworld. Perseus cannot ignore his true calling when Hades, along with Zeus’ godly son, Ares (Ramirez), switch loyalties and make a deal with Kronos to capture Zeus. The Titans’ strength grows stronger as Zeus’ remaining godly powers are siphoned, and hell is unleashed on earth. Enlisting the help of the warrior Queen Andromeda (Pike), Poseidon’s demigod son, Argenor (Kebbell), and fallen god Hephaestus (Nighy), Perseus bravely embarks on a treacherous quest into the underworld to rescue Zeus, overthrow the Titans and save mankind.
