The trailer offers the first official look at the villainous Lizard outside of July's Comic-Con and the sizzle reel presentation. Also, unlike its teasery predecessor, it jumps right into the webslinging, as if assuage fears that this would be a navel-gazing take on Spidey. From there, it doesn't really let up, either.
So here's the trailer, which just debuted at the film's official site:
Promising. Sony's rolling the dice in a big way here, rebooting a crazy-popular franchise that saw its last installment just five years ago and still looms pretty large in the popular culture. The decision to retell Spidey's familiar origin story, a tale that is both generally well known and was one of the more popular elements of Sam Raimi's first Spider-Man film. As you can tell, though, a lot of effort is going into drawing a distinction between the sensibility of that trilogy and this new effort.
(500) Days of Summer director Marc Webb is the man Sony is entrusting with the reboot, and he's working from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt, with revisions from Steve Kloves, who adapted every film in the Harry Potter franchise save for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
Andrew Garfield is the new Peter Parker, with Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, and Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Connors, who ends up mutating into the Lizard. The supporting cast also includes Sally Field, Martin Sheen, Campbell Scott, Embeth Davidtz, Chris Zylka, and Irrfan Khan.

The Amazing Spider-Man was actually shot in 3D, as opposed to being converted in post-production, so you're going to want to pick up some Rogue 3D Eyewear to fully appreciate all three of those dimensions.
