'The Avengers' Strut in a New Promo Image for Harley Davidson

Any blockbuster of suitable size is accompanied by an often noxious cloud of tie-in merchandising and promotion that slaps your favorite character's face on fast food wrappers, condom boxes, and underoos.  The Avengers is most certainly a blockbuster by design, which means that come this May, the titular superteam will be an inescapable presence both in and out of your local cinema.  A new promotional image can attest to that, since it has the whole team striking their coolest "walking towards the camera" The Right Stuff pose, strutting in the name of Harley Davidson.

The image is here courtesy of SuperHeroHype, and it's got the whole team lined up, with Hawkeye, Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, Black Widow, and The Incredible Hulk all doing some low impact cardio.

Promotional images of Hawkeye have frequently shown him wearing those sunglasses, like the Ultimate Marvel iteration of the character, and I just hope that, in the film, he's not the sort of guy who wears sunglasses indoors.  Or at night.

Marvel and Harley Davidson have teamed up to promote a feature before, as anyone buying Marvel comic books last summer will have seen the Captain America: The First Avenger ads featuring Cap on his Harley and the copy "Two undeniable forces out to liberate the world," fairly well reeking of imperial hubris.

So in the image we've got the characters played by Jeremy Renner, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Rober Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson,  and Mark Ruffalo.  They'll all be present and accounted for when the film, written and directed by fan favorite Joss Whedon, arrives in theaters on May 4th.

Who's missing?  Samuel L. Jackson, who is no doubt out shilling for his trademarked spirits (NSFW due to language):
