Cogan's Trade reunites Pitt with his The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford director Andrew Dominik. It's only the third feature from the Australian native who made an impressive debut with 2000's unstoppably energetic Chopper. Dominik penned the screenplay, adapting the novel by George V. Higgins. The story finds Pitt's Jackie Cogan tasked with investigating just what happened at a high-stakes, big money poker game that ends up getting bamboozled.
Pitt's obviously a selling point, but Dominik's working with an incredible supporting cast. There are the aforementioned likes of James Gandolfini and Ray Liotta, as well as ringers like Sam Shepard, Richard Jenkins, Garrett Dillahunt, Bella Heathcote, Trevor Long, and Ben Mendelsohn.
