In preparation for big show on Sunday, IAR will naturally be partaking in the Oscar frenzy throughout this week. One way in which we're doing this is by highlighting exclusive video and print interviews with some of this year's Academy Awards contenders. Every day, a different interview with an Oscar frontrunner will appear on the marquee of I Am Rogue.
Since you're here, though, you can partake in a shortcut to all those interviews below.
Monday:
A spirited round of video interviews with the cast of Best Picture nominee The Artist, led by Best Actor nominee Jean Dujardin, and Best Supporting Actress nominee Berenice Bejo, as well as John Goodman, James Cromwell, Penelope Ann Miller, and Missi Pyle.
Tuesday:
Despite being almost inarguably one of the most formidable screen actors working over the last several decades, Gary Oldman just received his first Best Actor nomination for his quiet, observant performance as George Smiley in Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. In this video interview, Oldman and invaluable supporting player Mark Strong discuss the John le Carré adaptation.
Wednesday:
Earlier last year, Kenneth Branagh directed his first comic book blockbuster with Marvel's Thor, but in IAR's video interview, he talks to Jami Philbrick about his Oscar-nominated supporting in My Week With Marilyn, playing Sir Laurence Olivier to Michelle Williams's Marilyn Monroe.
Thursday:
Want to know more about the creation of Best Original Song nominee "Man or Muppet" from The Muppets? Check out this chat with Bret McKenzie, who is best known as half of New Zealand's fourth most popular folk-parody duo, Flight of the Conchords. Here, though, he's focused mostly on Muppetry musical accompaniment.
Friday:
Over the weekend, The Descendants editor Kevin Tent won the ACE Eddie Award for Best Edited Dramatic Feature Film. Prior to that, the Oscar heavy-hitter partook in an exclusive print interview with IAR discussing his work on the film directed by Alexander Payne and starring George Clooney.
That's not all, however. Midweek, we'll launch another round of Academy Awards Predictions from Brett Gursky, so don't miss that.
The penultimate shindig in the buildup to Sunday's Oscar ceremony is the Independent Spirit Awards, Film Independent's celebration of the year in non-studio fare. Check back to IAR starting on Saturday, when we'll be covering the Spirit Awards from the ground, posting the winners as they happen and adding interviews throughout the week.
And, of course, we'll be covering the Oscars when they go down at 7:00 pm Eastern/4:00 pm Pacific on Sunday, February 26th.
