The poster premiered at Apple today, and it plays up Merida's gung-ho physicality. It also contains the pieces of Brave's working title, The Bear and the Bow. The bear is in the shadows above the title, while the bow is obviously wielded by Merida.
Kelly Macdonald, the Trainspotting and No Country For Old Men actress recently seen in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, voices Merida, a free-spirited princess and archer who defies an ancient custom that sets her off on a strange adventure across the Scottish Highlands in an effort to save her parents' kingdom. The film also features the voices of Emma Thompson, Billy Connolly, Craig Ferguson, Kevin McKidd, Robbie Coltrane, and Julie Walters.
John Carter second-unit director and Pixar vetern Mark Andrews co-directs here with Brenda Chapman, a fellow Pixarian who co-directed DreamWorks Animation's The Prince of Egypt back in 1998. Chapman wrote the screenplay with Irene Mecchi.
Consider some Rogue 3D Eyewear so that you might more fully enjoy Brave when it arrives on June 22nd.
