I must admit that I'm kind of a sucker for paranormal reality shows. Mysterious encounters with ghosts, extraterrestrials and other unexplained oddities are an easy way to hook me, so the more the merrier. Well, looks like we're getting more, and it's coming from an A-list director.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, A&E has reached a deal with Doug Liman (Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Bourne Identity) to produce a pilot called "The Unexplained", which will tell first-person, real-life stories investigating supposed paranormal phenomena.

From the press release: “The Unexplained,” Liman’s first foray into non scripted television, uses his world renowned storytelling and filmmaking expertise to deliver real-life stories that take audiences to places they have never been before: investigating, questioning, experiencing and chasing down answers to the most bizarre stories and strangest paranormal occurrences. Possible topics for the series are past life regressions, real-life hauntings, near-death and out-of-body experiences and other chilling personal encounters. These are first-person emotional stories of life, death and the possible in-between that have never been told.
