These new set photos come from the English countryside, specifically a haunted house-looking location that just looks like the sort of place a bad guy would hang about. Daniel Craig is naturally present as Ian Fleming's swinging superspy, but rather than focus on him, let's take a look at the car Bond's driving. It's certainly a classic Aston Martin, and it's pretty much guaranteed to be an Aston Martin DB5, the car familiar from Sean Connery Bond outings Goldfinger and Thunderball. The old-fashioned Aston was last seen in Casino Royale, where Craig's Bond won it in a game of chance.
Big thanks to Coming Soon for these images.
The presence of so conspicuous a brand serves as a reminder that this film will set an all-time record for product placement, with roughly a third of its budget coming from on-screen advertising.
This latest Bond was written by franchise regulars Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, with extensive revisions from The Aviator and Rango screenwriter John Logan. Sam Mendes makes his first action movie here, and he's brought world-class cinematographer Roger Deakins and composer Thomas Newman with him.
Craig may very well be making his last appearance as Bond, and he'll be joined by Bardem, Judi Dench, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, Albert Finney, Berenice Marlohe, and Helen McCrory. See them all in Skyfall when it hits American theaters on November 9th.
