Here's the lengthy synopsis via Arclight's official site: A million bucks just to deliver a briefcase...It's a job too good to be true, especially if you're the COURIER (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), a daredevil carrier renowned for taking on impossible missions; who's never missed a drop. The only catch is delivering it to someone who can't be found, even by the FBI, and when that someone is the notorious, never seen King of the Underworld EVIL SIVLE whose very name makes the toughest tremble, there's a lot more than reputation and money on the line.
With a ruthless pack of double-crossing feds, scheming crooked cops and cold-blooded rival crime bosses in hot pursuit, the Courier trail blazes in a worldwide chase for the most wanted man in the land. Drugged, beaten, tortured and two-timed, the bloodhound bagman discovers that easy money was never so hard, and learns while tracking the elusive kingpin to Las Vegas, just why Evil is the one person on the planet no one can find, and why he really is the King...
Sounds kind of like The Transporter meets The Usual Suspects, which is okay by me. The screenplay was penned by Michael Brandt and Derek Haas (3:10 To Yuma, Wanted). The duo actually sold the spec script way back in 1999; Adrien Brody was briefly attached a couple of years ago, but obviously that never worked out. Seems like the script just won't die, so maybe there's some real juicy material here... Production on The Courier will finally begin next month in New Orleans.
