X-Men: First Class is sounding better and better. The latest casting news is that the lovely Rose Byrne from TV’s Damages is in negotiations to join the already strong cast with director Matthew Vaughn at the helm. Rose will be portraying Moira MacTaggert, a scientist and genetic mutation expert. More importantly, she will be a love interest for James McAvoy, who plays Charles Xavier, a name very familiar to ‘X-Men’ fans. What kind of issues awaits this couple? Since this is an ‘X-Men’ film, they are guaranteed to have a few bumps in their relationship road.
As far as storyline, we are all in the dark at this point. We do know that the film will focus on the beloved mutant characters in their early years.
So far, the cast also includes Michael Fassbender, Kevin Bacon, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult and Alice Eve. Here is hoping Fox can bring this franchise back and make it as smart and entertaining as it was.
What are your thoughts on a “new and improved” ‘X-Men’? Who are you most looking forward to cast wise?
