Adam Yauch's Oscilloscope Laboratories will be taking on the U.S. rights for Dana Adam Shapiro’s narrative film directing debut, Monogamy.

The thriller has an intriguing premise and stars Rashida Jones from “Parks and Recreation”, Chris Messina from Julia & Julia and Meital Dohan from “Weeds”.

Shapiro brought the film to the Tribeca Film Festival for its world premiere. It won Best New York Narrative Award and it looks like it could be another successful film for Shapiro, who is most famous for his critically acclaimed documentary Murderball.

The synopsis for the film goes something like this…

A wedding photographer (Messina) eases his anxiety about his impending marriage by establishing a hobby in which he's hired by clients to shoot clandestine photos of them. He becomes obsessed with one of those clients, a sexy exhibitionist (Dohan) he begins stalking day and night. What he sees leaves him confronting uncomfortable truths about his sex life at home.

Oscilloscope will release the film in early 2011. Will you be watching?
