I'm Still Here

The trailer for Casey Affleck's incisive documentary and/or elaborate hoax about Joaquin Phoenix, I'm Still Here, has just gotten a brief but deep trailer. And by "deep", I mean it contains someone telling Phoenix that he's a drop of water on a mountaintop. Or something. It's really weird, that's for sure.

The film, which purports to be about Phoenix's new, out-of-left-field career as a rapper, has been the subject of much debate regarding its bizarre subject matter. Is this all real? Or is it just Phoenix pulling our leg? If it's the latter, well, what's the point? Since most of us have already assumed that there's something fishy about Phoenix's shtick, what use would it be to further claim it's legit? (Besides saving face, of course.) I don't know if we'll ever really discover the truth, but I can't pretend I'm not interested in the flick. Phoenix has gone partially off the deep end, that much seems clear enough; why not enjoy the show?

I'm Still Here opens on September 10th. Check out the trailer HERE.

This begs the question: What do you think is going on here? Is this an actor losing touch with reality, or is he just f**ing around?
