The Art of Elysium's GENESIS Gala

You’ve probably heard of The Art of Elysium before. At the very least you’ve seen pictures of glamorous Hollywood celebrities attending their landmark Heaven Gala over the years. But have you really stopped to think why those celebrities attend year after year?

The Art of Elysium is a unique charity that works to improve the lives of critically ill children by offering art programs led by some of today’s top musicians, actors, makeup artists, athletes, etc. The programs range from hospital visits to interactive workshops, each of which serve to ease the difficulty and anxiety of these children’s lives as well as increase each child’s self-esteem and development despite their personal medical challenges.

As important as the Heaven Gala is to raise money and awareness for the charity itself, more important is the need for volunteers within the industry to offer their own time and resources to this great cause.

The Genesis Gala was created for this exact purpose.

The 2nd Annual Genesis Gala – held this Saturday, August 28 - is called “a celebration of emerging artists,” but it is really a call to arms, so to speak, for the next generation of selfless artists who are willing to give their time to children in need. The Art of Elysium wants to celebrate young up-and-coming artists who want to learn, get involved with and grow with the charity for years to come.

These artists will be the next leaders of The Art of Elysium’s Fashion Design Programs, Photography Programs, Improv Workshops, Songwriting Programs and Once Upon a Time Workshops. They will be responsible for making countless children’s lives better. They will be responsible for using their art to make the world a better place. So Genesis wants to be responsible for celebrating these artists’ goodness and generosity, which will hopefully inspire future generations of young talent to get involved with The Art of Elysium’s cause.

If you can’t make it to the event, you can still support The Art of Elysium by participating in their online auction. The auction launches August 24th and runs for 2 weeks, during which time you can bid on a number of invaluable items. The proceeds make the art workshops and programs possible. So even if you can’t donate your time, please do your part to facilitate the programs that allow others to donate theirs.
