Based on the 2004 Japanese novel by Hiroshi Sakurazaka, All You Need Is Kill centers on a new recruit in a war against aliens who finds himself caught in a time loop in which he wakes up in the past after having been killed on the battlefield. As the soldier's death and resurrection repeat, his skills as a soldier grows as he attempts to change his fate.
Jeez, that's a lot to deal with. Sounds engaging though - if there's anything I love more than time loops, it's aliens. This one's got 'em both.
Liman is a busy man these days; his recently completed Fair Game is coming out this fall (check out the trailer HERE), while he also has a new T.V. show in the works for A&E called "The Unexplained".
For more from Doug Liman, you'll certainly want to check out our exclusive video interviews with the director right HERE. Fascinating stuff, if you're an aspiring filmmaker or just a fan of movies in general...
My only problem with this project is the title. All You Need Is Kill? Really..? What do you think?
