Oscar, now 5-years-old, has the freaky habit of curling up next to a patient hours before his or her demise. Evidently this pattern was noticed by doctors around a year after the feline arrived at the Steere House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center as a wee kitten. His track record is said to be so spot-on that, if he lays next to a patient, the doctors are confident enough that death is on the doorstep and proceed to call the resident's family...
The kitty's tale was told by David Dosa in the book "Making the Rounds With Oscar: The Extraordinary Gift of an Ordinary Cat"; Stephen Lindsey and Luis Ugaz are writing the screenplay based on the nonfiction work.
Oscar has had dozens of articles written about him (here's one example), and even has an episode of "House M.D." based on him! Clearly, he's the biggest thing since Garfield...
No director has signed on yet, and there's no word on who will be playing the cat. My money is on Cate Blanchett - that woman can play anyone.
What would your reaction be if you saw Oscar the Cat walking toward you?
