Butler's front and center on this international poster, with the White House relegated to the background. A burning U.S. flag, some big helicopters, no small amount of smoke, and those flying sparks from seemingly every action movie poster emphasize that this a big action movie. In a move as old as the genre, the content of the film is made clear by putting a pistol in Butler's paw.
Butler stars here as a disgraced Secret Service Agent who becomes the nation's last hope after the president is taken hostage in a highly coordinated attack on his domicile, codenamed Olympus. Aaron Eckhart plays the President, with Morgan Freeman as the Speaker of the House, and Ashley Judd as the First Lady. Lending support are the likes of Rick Yune, Radha Mitchell, Cole Hauser, Angela Bassett, Robert Forster, Melissa Leo, Radha Mitchell, Dylan McDermott, Han Soto, and Morgan Jaye Williams.

Best known as the director of Training Day and less known as the helmer of King Arthur, Tears of the Sun, and, most recently, Brooklyn's Finest, Antoine Fuqua channels his inner McTiernan here. He's working from a screenplay by first-timers Creighton Rothenberger and Katrin Benedikt.
Set to hit theaters Stateside theaters on March 22nd, Olympus Has Fallen is the Deep Impact to White House Down's Armageddon in that it arrives first. The latter film, directed by Roland Emmerich and starring Channing Tatum, Jamie Foxx, and Maggie Gyllenhaal, will present a very similar scenario on June 28th.
