Paula Patton

Paula Patton (Precious) has been added to the cast of the new Mission: Impossible movie, reports Deadline.com. The actress, best known for her roles in Precious and Mirrors joins Tom Cruise and Jeremy Renner in the Paramount project, which is being directed by Brad Bird and produced by J.J. Abrams.

Patton will play a young operative who works alongside Cruise and Renner's characters in the film, the plot of which is heavily under wraps. Ving Rhames and Simon Pegg are said to be returning as "Luther" and "Benji", respectively.

The film doesn't have a set title yet, as it's a reboot of the franchise. One thing it will not be called is Mission: Impossible 4, though. Paramount and Skydance Productions are co-financing the $140 million film, which will release in December of 2011.

What do you think of the cast that has been assembled for the new Mission Impossible?
