Super Bowl TV Spot Roundup: 'Iron Man 3,' 'Star Trek,' 'Lone Ranger,' & More

In addition to the usual ads for beer, cars, and everything in between, the Super Bowl always provides a showcase for the studios to pimp their upcoming product, particularly the big summer movies that will stampede into multiplexes a few months from now.  Super Bowl XLVII, with its power outage and dramatic second-half comeback from the 49ers, has been no exception.

The would-be blockbusters receiving high profile Super Bowl spots this year are Star Trek Into Darkness, World War Z, Snitch, The Lone Ranger, Oz the Great and Powerful, Fast & Furious 6, and Iron Man 3.

Rather than presenting each of these spots in their own little article, we've instead rounded up the big Super Bowl TV spots into one convenient roundup.

All of these make their cases for the big movies they represent, but the secrecy J.J. Abrams and co. have maintained around Star Trek Into Darkness, as well as Abrams's new gig directing Star Wars: Episode VII, make that one of special interest.  The spot for Fast & Furious 6, meanwhile, represents our first look at footage from Justin Lin's latest Furious sequel, the title of which was just officially revealed yesterday with the theatrical one-sheet.

And then we've got the Iron Man 3 spot, which heralds the film of Marvel Studios' Phase Two with the familiar gravity of the first trailer, as well as a big heroic Iron Man moment from an aerial action sequence.

With no further ado, here's a rundown of the Super Bowl XLVII TV spots:

Star Trek Into Darkness

World War Z

The Lone Ranger

Oz the Great and Powerful

Fast & Furious 6

Iron Man 3
