The Spanish-language comedy will be directed by Matt Piedmont and will also feature Genesis Rodriguez as Ferrell’s love interest, Pedro Armendariz Jr., Hector Jimenez and Adrian Martinez.

The plot for the feature is being kept under wraps according to The Hollywood Reporter, “but it will be told in an overly dramatic telenovela style and feature English subtitles.”

Garcia Bernal will be playing a family friend and Luna will be playing Ferrell’s brother.

Ferrell will be producing with his Gary Sanchez Prods. Partners Adam McKay, Kevin Messick and Jessica Elbaum. Emilio Diez Barrosa and Darlene Caamono Loquet of NALA Films will be financing the flick.
