First 'Machete Kills' TV Spot: Violence, Charlie Sheen, and Boob Cannons

Machete Kills is set to premiere in Austin, Texas later this month at Fantastic Fest.

So it's about time to start lathering audiences up for the October 11th nationwide release of Robert Rodriguez's B-movie sequel once again starring Danny Trejo.

The unstoppable killing machine who began his cinematic life in a gag trailer as part of Rodriguez and Tarantino's Grindhouse makes his triumphant return next month via this middle installment in a planned trilogy that would conclude with Machete Kills Again.  A trailer for the next adventure might just be included with Machete Kills.

This first sequel finds the ex-federale and sex machine recruited by the President of the United States to stop a dangerous revolutionary and an insane arms dealer with a plan to bring the entire world to its knees.  Mel Gibson, currently shooting a role as a villainous arms dealer in The Expendables 3, plays the bad guy here.

The TV spot doesn't have much time for anything other than gags, but rest assured that the next Machete includes just as many absurd cameos as its predecessor.

The repetition of "Machete" here amuses me, as do a couple of the kills.  This spot is hobbled by its inability to go red band, though.  Every glimpse at an upcoming movie is better when it involves rappelling with someone's innards.

Oh, in addition to the first TV spot, there's also a new Machete Kills image that might be of interest:

Rodriguez's eclectic cast here includes the likes of Demian Bichir, Amber Heard, Michelle Rodriguez, Cuba Gooding Jr., Jessica Alba, Vanessa Hudgens, Lady Gaga, Alexa Vega, Antonio Banderas, William Sadler, and Charlie Sheen, credited for the first time as Carlos Estevez.

Stay tuned for word on the movie from Fantastic Fest.
