A few weeks ago I was asked if I would be interested in interviewing actor Richard Schiff, and I of course jumped at the chance. Who wouldn’t want to talk to one of the finest character actors working in the business today? In his impressive, almost thirty-year long career, he has appeared in such popular and critically acclaimed films as Malcolm X, Seven, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, I Am Sam, Ray, and Solitary Man. But the actor will always be best known to TV fans for his Emmy Award winning performance as Toby Ziegler on The West Wing, unarguably one of the greatest television shows ever created. So knowing that I was going to be speaking to the actor soon, I was pleasantly surprised when it was announced on Tuesday that Mr. Schiff would be playing the pivotal role of Dr. Hamilton in Zack Snyder’s upcoming Superman reboot Man of Steel.

With Warner Premiere's Batman: Year One, the 1987 four-part origin story by Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli gets the direct-to-DVD and Blu-ray treatment.  The comic was a huge influence on both Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, and given the presence of Catwoman, we might just see some echoes of Year One in net year's The Dark Knight Rises, too.  Warner Premiere has done a pretty good job with DC properties so far; in the case of Green Lantern: First Flight, they arguably did a better job than the big screen version.  So take some time to check out this first trailer for Batman: Year One, which gives a good idea of how Mazzucchelli's style will translate to animation.

Paramount Pictures likes what they see in Last Man Standing, an upcoming graphic novel from Heavy Metal Publishing that was apparently a huge hit at Comic-Con. Thursday, 05 August 2010 11:23

Seth Rogen talks Green Hornet with iamROGUE's JimmyO at Comic-Con.

Seth just wants to make movies that he is "excited to see" - such as the upcoming 2011 superhero action/adventure film directed by Michel Gondry.  He stresses that when he makes a movie, he tries specifically to make it for an audience and not the critics or the artistic people. Check out the exclusive interview here!

Guillermo del Toro is one of the most exciting filmmakers of our time. The question is, why would such an inventive man be involved in a remake of a 1973 made for TV horror flick?

Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark is a classic example of genuine chills and thrills. It also features a wonderful performance from Kim Darby as a woman terrorized by some creepy troll-like creatures. However, the film is dated and unless you are a hardcore horror fanatic like I am, you may not be very familiar with the original (even though you should be).

Whew! Comic Con is over and I still feel the excitement and pressure from being a part of this massive experience. It was so insane that it makes a hangover look like a good time! And just like a hangover, you feel kinda, sorta awesome getting there!

But the beauty of the Con is the absolute enthusiasm folks have for the comics, the movies, the TV shows, everything that is a part of our culture. For some it becomes almost a religious experience. I still have my Buffy the Vampire Slayer shrine. All hail to Priestess Buffy! (I guess this is why those freaks were picketing this year.)
