Opening in theaters on October 28th is the new sci-fi thriller from Gattaca writer/director Andrew Niccol called In Time. The film stars an excellent cast of young actors including Justin Timberlake (The Social Network), Amamda Seyfried (Dear John), Cillian Murphy (Batman Begins), Olivia Wilde (Tron: Legacy), Matt Bomer (TV's White Collar), Alex Pettyfer (I Am Number Four), Johnny Galecki (TV's The Big Bang Theory), and Vincent Kartheiser (TV's Mad Men).
At Comic-Con International in San Diego earlier this year, IAR's managing editor Jami Philbrick had a chance to speak with director Andrew Niccol, as well actors Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried about their new film In Time. The two actors and the director discuss the new film, it's intricate plot, fast paced chases, Seyfried's natural talent, Timberlake's reasons for making the movie, and its close relationship to Gattaca.
Seven years ago, The Notebook arrived in theaters and immediately became a Valentine's Day standby, the sort of movie that inspires tears of the very best kind in women and men of every demographic. That film was based on a novel by bestselling author Nicholas Sparks, whose storytelling secret is simply to tell stories well, in an earnest and romantic manner with which readers can connect. His literary popularity has translated successfully to subsequent films, including Dear John, Nights in Rodanthe, and The Last Song.
His latest novel, Safe Haven, is now available in paperback, meaning you can pick up a copy well before the movie version hits theaters. The novel is currently being developing into a feature film at Relativity Media. Lasse Hallstrom, the Oscar-nominated director of The Cider House Rules, Chocolat, and What's Eating Gilbert Grape, is attached to direct, marking his second time tackling a Sparks' novel, having helmed 2010's Dear John starring Channing Tatum and Amanda Seyfried.
Three-time Academy Award nominee Lasse Hallstrom has been directing sensitive, moving dramas for over twenty years, and his credits include the hugely acclaimed My Life as a Dog, The Cider House Rules, Chocolat, and The Shipping News. Most recently, he helmed Relativity Media’s extremely successful romance Dear John, which was adapted from the novel by Nicholas Sparks and starred Amanda Seyfried and Channing Tatum. Now, Relativity has tapped Hallstrom to direct Safe Haven, a suspenseful love story based on the latest bestseller by Sparks.
When we first meet Paige and Leo, the characters played by Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum, in this first trailer for The Vow, it's clear that something terrible is going to happen to them. They're both just too happy, too in love, and too damn good-looking. Things get real for the deliriously smitten newlyweds when a car accident leaves Paige with total amnesia. As she tries to cultivate a new identity and make sense of her situation, Leo gives it his all to make her remember the love she once felt for him. Watch the trailer for yourself, and see two very attractive people in an untenable situation.
