in 2006, writer-director George Miller tried his hand at an animated feature was Happy Feet, starring a bunch of adorable digital cartoon penguins and the voices of Elijah Wood, Hugh Jackman, and Robin Williams.  The unexpectedly allegorical family film became a big hit, principally because of the musical numbers, which re-appropriated familiar pop hits in an exuberantly stylish fashion.  The first teaser trailer for Happy Feet Two has shown up online, and it assures audiences that the 3D sequel will have no shortage of pop music, cute baby penguins, and general cleverness.

Yesterday, with the news that incoming Warner Bros Studio Chief Jeff Robinov is hoping – against reality and logic – to have a Justice League film onscreen in 2013, I wondered if perhaps the plan involved a crossover role for Henry Cavill, who plays Clark Kent in director Zack Snyder's Superman reboot.  Well, HeyUGuys (via Cinemablend) caught up with Snyder at the London premiere of his new film Sucker Punch, and he answered conclusively as to his Superman's involvement in a possible Justice League.

The long developing, Mel Gibson-less Mad Max back-to-back sequels tentatively-titled Fury Road and Furiosa were all set to begin production in January of this year in the Australian outback, with Inception's Tom Hardy set to take over for Gibson as Max Rockatansky.  On top of that, Charlize Theron, Teresa Palmer, and Nicholas Hoult were also on board.  Unfortunately, Biblical rainfall flooded Australia, making the Outback ill-suited to portray the arid, post-apocalyptic setting.  George Miller, the man who created the franchise, insists that the automotive mayhem will happen in January 2012.

Riley Keough, perhaps better known as Lisa Marie Presley's daughter and the granddaughter of Elvis Presley, has been tapped to co-star alongside Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron in George Miller's Mad Max: Fury Road (aka Mad Max 4).

The actress is still "in talks" for the role; Keough would play one of the "Five Wives", a group of women that Mad Max (Hardy, Inception) is protecting. Teresa Palmer, Adelaide Clemens and Zoe Kravitz play three of the other wives. (Kravitz herself is the daughter of musician Lenny Kravitz.)
