Our latest peek behind the curtain of X-Men: Days of Future Past provides a look at two generations of X-Men side by side and in a familiar setting, no less.

Director Bryan Singer continues to tweet up a storm from the set of X-Men: Days of Future Past.

It's a truly rare occasion, as the latest photo from the prolific tweeter shows off a castmember from X-Men: First Class.  James McAvoy is back in Professor X's wheelchair as Charles Xavier, and his overall look is thoroughly seventies.

The most popular adamantium-boned, cigar-chomping homo-superior in Marvel's roster of merry mutants is gracing screens this summer in his second solo adventure The Wolverine. 

But Hugh Jackman is making it two consecutive summers of healing-factor action, as he's also popping up in next year's X-Men: First Class sequel X-Men: Days of Future Past.  A new and thoroughly teaser-y behind the scenes image shows Jackman back in his mutton chops on the Days of Future Past set.

With its time-travel story allowing two generations of mutants to appear together in the same film, next year's X-Men: Days of Future Past has inspired a tremendous amount of anticipation, chatter, and hearsay well before a frame of film has been shot.

Today, though, we have an exclusive update from no less a source than James McAvoy, who reprises his role as the younger Professor Charles Xavier in the sequel, scheduled for nationwide release on July 18, 2014.  The actor confirmed that he has read finally read the top-secret screenplay and promised that the film will provide fans with "something different, new, and unexpected."

Among the small roster of event movie directors using Twitter to pimp their next mega-movie, nobody is doing it better than Bryan Singer. 

In addition to sharing many an image from the pre-production of X-Men: Days of Future Past, Singer regularly uses his account to share new casting information on the sequel, bypassing the usual announcements or trade news.  His latest tweet combines these basic modes, backdoor-announcing several castmembers via a picture of the ensemble's headshots.

Nightcrawler, one of Marvel's most popular merry mutants, may be teleporting his way back into the X-Men franchise for the first time since X2.

It's not yet a done deal, but apparently Halle Berry is very nearly locked in to reprise the role of Storm in X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Some mega-directors play the mystery box game.  With X-Men: Days of Future Past, Bryan Singer has seized the digital reins, becoming a one-man marketing machine for the seventh X-Men movie.

While the director's Twitter has been a font of casting news and info-nuggets relating to both the 2014 sequel and next month's Jack the Giant Slayer, his latest offering is a small but potent visual treat for X-fans, showing off two generations of wheelchair used by Professor Xavier.

All the casting news relating to next year's X-Men: Days of Future Past has pertained exclusively to familiar actors from the franchise returning to their roles, but for the first truly new addition, director Bryan Singer has managed to secure one hell of a talent.

That talent: Peter Dinklage, the strong center who holds together HBO's hugely popular Game of Thrones.
