Indonesian action movie The Raid has a simple title to accompany a simple concept: A group of the most elite and hardened cops assault a thirty-story apartment block that serves as the base of operations for a ruthless, untouchable crime lord.  Once they're in the building, they're trapped, and forced to fight their way through the most formidable circumstances imaginable.  Sony Pictures Classics has released a domestic trailer for the film, revealing that the title has been changed to The Raid: Redemption for no apparent reason.

The second theatrical trailer for the fourth film in the Underworld franchise, Underworld Awakening, has arrived online.  While it doesn't spend as much time focusing on Kate Beckinsale emerging naked from a cryogenic tank as the first trailer released in August, this new trailer demonstrates that the marketing team at Screen Gems knows exactly how to sell their Underworld movies.  Yeah, there's ample slow motion action, including gunfight as well as elaborately acrobatic leaping, flipping, and stabbing.  And yeah, the story, such as it is, is laid out, with Bekinsale's vampiric assassin Selene emerging from twelve years of captivity to a world where humans are winning an ongoing open war with both vampires and werewolves.  But the big selling point is undoubtedly Beckinsale in Selene's signature shiny black leather costume looking dangerous, pale, and sexy.  How overtly is the marketing based around this?  The big tagline is simply, "Kate Beckinsale in 3D."  That oughta do it.

It's an indisputable empirical fact that 99.9% of people who have seen Attack the Block love it and rave about it until you want to slap them because you haven't seen it yet.  The British action comedy really has been earning near-unanimous raves from everyone who laid eyes on it at SXSW and LA screenings.  The mashup premise is certainly promising: a group of kids in the London projects must defend themselves against alien invaders.  A new trailer appeared at The Guardian (via CinemaBlend), and it is such a blast that you'll be bummed you have to wait awhile to see Attack the Block stateside.
