The new film once again stars Grammy-winner Will Smith (Ali) and Oscar-winner Tommy Lee Jones (Captain America: The First Avenger) as Agents J and K, respectively, and was also directed by Barry Sonnenfeld (Get Shorty) who helmed the first two installments. In addition to the return of Smith and Jones, the new movie also features Oscar-nominee Josh Brolin (Milk) as a younger version of Agent K, as well as performances from two-time Oscar-winner Emma Thompson (Love Actually), Alice Eve (ATM), Jemaine Clement (HBO's Flight of the Conchords), Nicole Scherzinger (Fox's The X Factor), David Rasche (United 93).

The director talked about his new movie, the art of making a time travel film, using Back to the Future as a template for the project, why they decided to introduce time travel to the Men in Black series, setting the movie in 1969, not shying away from the racism of the era, the film's over publicized script trouble, why they took a much needed break halfway through production, the brilliant idea of casting Josh Brolin as a young Tommy Lee Jones, the possibility of Jaden Smith appearing in MiB4, and the future of the popular franchise.

Actor Andrew Garfield speaks those fateful words as Peter Parker in a voice over during the opening moments of the second and final The Amazing Spider-Man trailer, which premiered on Apple.com at 4PM PST today. The trailer will run in theaters tomorrow with The Avengers (fittingly), while the film is set to swing into theaters on July 3rd.
As you probably already know, the movie is a reboot of the popular film series based on the classic Marvel comic book character created by the legendary Stan Lee. Ironically helmed by (500) Days of Summer director Marc Webb, the film features Andrew Garfield (The Social Network) as Peter Parker, who by day is an outcast high school student and at night becomes your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. In addition to Garfield, the film features Emma Stone (The Help) as Peter’s love interest Gwen Stacey, and Rhys Ifans (Anonymous) as his mentor and eventual enemy Dr. Curt Connors/The Lizard.
Resident Evil: Retribution opened the Sony Panel at WonderCon 2012 in Anaheim this past weekend. “This time it’s global” boasted the film’s promotional push; it’s on the Resident Evil trailer and posters, and certainly evokes the sense that, though this is the fifth of the Resident Evil variations, there is more to witness.
After his success with The Fighter last year, director David O. Russell made a surprise move by signing to Sony's videogame adaptation Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. Though he brought frequent collaborator Mark Wahlberg with him, fans of the game were irked by liberties Russell was looking to take with the property, and eventually he left the project due to creative differences. According to Variety, Sony has found their new Uncharted director in Neil Burger, who most recently directed this spring's hit Limitless.
After getting its financial dealings all straightened out MGM starting shopping several of its properties around to studios for co-financing and distribution. The most notable of these titles is, of course, the twenty-third installment of the James Bond franchise, directed by Sam Mendes and once again starring Daniel Craig. Sony was the most likely candidate to distribute Bond 23, as the studio did the same for Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace. Now it's official. Sony Picture will co-finance and distribute not just Bond 23, but Bond 24 as well, meaning that the world's foremost secret agent will continue using quality Sony products.
Having scored a financial success over the weekend with Jonathan Liebesman's Battle: Los Angeles, Sony is looking to stay in the alien invasion game. According to Variety (via Cinemablend), the studio has purchased the screenplay Agent OX from writer Daniel Kunka. Neal H. Moritz is set to produce, which is no coincidence, as he also served as a producer on Battle: Los Angeles.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Samuel Goldwyn Films and Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions have teamed up to distribute the wonderfully-titled ensemble comedy A Good Old Fashioned Orgy starring Jason Sudeikis.Goldwyn is considering a late summer release for the obviously adult-oriented picture, which is the debut directorial feature from Pete Huyck and Alex Gregory, a writing duo who have worked on television shows including King of the Hill and The Late Show with David Letterman.
A day spent touring the major studios to pimp his R-rated sci-fi extravaganza Elysium paid off for director Neill Blomkamp, as Sony snatched up distribution rights and will co-finance the flick with Universal. Sony also distributed Blomkamp’s first film, District 9, which made $210 million worldwide and was nominated for best picture. Elysium will star Matt Damon, Jodie Foster, and District 9’s Wikus Van De Merwe himself, Sharlto Copley.
After weeks of spy photos giving nothing but furtive peeks at Andrew Garfield or Emma Stone in character as Peter Parker or Gwen Stacy, Sony has just dropped an image-bomb of epic proportions, showing us not only the first official still of Garfield in character, but wearing director Marc Webb’s all new version of the iconic red-and-blue Spider-Man costume.
