For Dark Shadows, his feature revival of the gothic 1960's soap opera, Tim Burton has culled quite an ensemble cast to portray the Collins family and their associates, with his usual leading man Johnny Depp as the mysterious vampire Barnabas. Joining Depp are Jackie Earle Haley, Helena Bonham Carter, Michelle Pfeiffer, Eva Green, Chloe Grace Moretz, and Thomas McDonnell. Conspicuously absent from that list, you'll notice, is Michael Sheen, who says unequivocally that he will not appear in Dark Shadows, despite recent reports linking him to the role of Robert Collins.
I recently went on a Cadbury Creme Egg binge, ingesting heretofore unprecedented amounts of rich chocolate and diabetes-inducing sugars. Even a candy spree of that magnitude does not compare to the amount of sugary, romantic comedy cuteness contained in the clips we've seen from Disney's tween ensemble Prom. The first of two new clips, for example, features DeVaughn Nixon asking Danielle Campbell to accompany him to the dance with unparalleled comedic results. The second clip features Thomas McDonnell as a leather jacket wearing, motorcycle riding rebel with no love for frilly dances, and his ferocious protests are such that he'll never end up falling in love with Aimee Teegarten and wearing a tux to the dance. Right?
The intertwining ensemble-style romantic comedy popularized by the likes of Love Actually and Valentine's Day will skew more youthful in Disney's Prom, in which a sprawling cast of high school students (all of whom will be conspicuously acne-free) prepare for the eponymous dance. To get you in the proper Prom-spirit, Disney has released three clips from the film, introducing you to three separate storylines and three different romantic dilemmas. Take a look.
