If your conception of foreign films is limited to stodgy British period pieces about the repressed Victorian gentry or ponderous French philosophical treatises, then you're missing out on an entire world's worth of unique and interesting movies. If that's your idea of international cinema, then Spanish writer-director Alex de la Iglesia's new film The Last Circus should rather fully upend perception. That's at least based on the trailer released in June and a new red band clip from the film. This clip is decidedly and completely NSFW, as it features plenty of fairly explicit sex and an outburst of bloody trumpet-based violence. That's one way of getting the attention of an American audience.
The last time we brought you news about the "Night Terrors" screening series put on by The Collective and Bloody-Disgusting, it concerned the apocalyptic mashup Phase 7, an Argentinian gem which would not have made it to American screens were it not for this the work of these two dedicated parties. Today, we're happy to bring word of another such oddity that will receive a limited theatrical run as part of "Night Terrors." It's Cold Fish, a deliciously depraved Japanese thriller from writer-director Sion Sono. Check out the trailer, poster, synopsis, and a list of locations where you can see Cold Fish theatrically.

Machete, the Grindhouse spawned flick that is giving Danny Trejo his first major leading role will be premiering at the Venice Film Festival.
And since Robert Rodriguez directed this “midnight movie”, it makes sense that it premieres at twelve am on September 1. What better way to start the witching hour with a heavy dosage of blood, brawn and babes?
