Rogue of the Week: David Fincher

David Fincher made Fight Club.

Honestly, for Rogue of the Week that would nearly be enough for us.

Fight Club (based on the fantastic novel by Chuck Palahniuk) divided audiences upon its initial release, but it has also found itself new respect thanks to a fantastic DVD and a recent Blu-ray release. This Brad Pitt/Edward Norton/Helena Bonham Carter combo is one of the most fascinating films of the past few decades.

Again, Fincher has offered up several other well-respected feature films including Se7en, Panic Room, Zodiac and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. He has a talent for creating not only a fantastic looking picture; he also manages to tell a great story. Whatever story that it happens to be.

Next up is the much-anticipated look at Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook. The Social Network hasn’t even arrived, but the reviews are stellar and the Academy Award buzz is all over the place. This looks to be another hit for the director, and frankly, who would of thought a movie about Facebook would attract this much attention.

Not only is he making “The Facebook Movie” better than anyone would have thought possible, he is next taking on a remake! A remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo no less!  If anybody can make it work, he would be the one. That is why David Fincher is our Rogue of the Week.

What is your favorite David Fincher film?
