Ron Perlman

Ron Perlman maybe one of the very best actors working today. Screw that, he IS one of the best actors working today.

All you need to do is look at his early career to get an idea how talented this man is. Even in a melodramatic television show like “Beauty and the Beast”, both he and Linda Hamilton made it better than a romantic drama about a dude that looks like a cat and his love for a woman ought to be.Yet he was terrific back in the day, and he just gets better and better.

Between then and now he has made some very memorable characters in films like The City of Lost Children, Happy, Texas and The Name of the Rose.

Then there is Hellboy! He helped make the big red guy legendary. With Guillermo del Toro directing and an impressive supporting cast, Perlman brought this iconic character to life.

And now we have Clarence ‘Clay’ Morrow on what is arguably one of the best shows on television.  “Sons of Anarchy” is in its third season where it continues to charm, thrill and mess its audience up.  This series about an outlaw biker gang is original and complex.  Ron Perlman, along with Katey Sagal and Charlie Hunnam, carries this show with unbelievable skill.  This dude is my hero!

Recently we reported that he would also be appearing in Nicolas Winding Refn’s Drive (along with a stellar cast) and rumor has it he may be joining del Toro as they climb towards At the Mountains of Madness.  While Perlman isn’t necessarily saving any kittens at the moment, he is our pick for Rogue of the Week!
