Like the nation he so strappingly represents, Captain America doesn't hesitate to leap headlong into danger, knocking the lights out of anyone unfortunate to stand in his way.
That's just what Cap does in an extended clip from next month's Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
The other title character in Captain America: The Winter Soldier finally has a poster to call his own.
"Just when you think Cap's embraced the fact that his previous life is gone, the old life comes in and punches him in the face," says Marvel Studios head honcho Kevin Feige in a new look behind the scenes of Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Steve Rogers is putting his vibranium shield to good use on the latest poster for Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Bucky Barnes has moved on to greener covert pastures, so Cap's got a new sidekick in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
And that new sidekick, The Falcon, has his own character poster highlighting the sweet wingsuit sported by Anthony Mackie in this April's superhero sequel.
On Monday night, I was invited to attend (along with a few other members of the press and some very lucky fans) a special Los Angeles screening of All Hail the King, which is a new 14 minute short film that is part of Marvel Studios’ Marvel One-Shots and will be included on the Thor: The Dark World Blu-ray available February 25th. After the screening, we were joined by the film’s writer and director Drew Pearce (who also co-wrote Iron Man 3), as well as Marvel Studios President of Production Kevin Feige and Academy Award-winner Sir Ben Kingsley for a unique Q&A.
At the end of the Q&A, the moderator asked Feige if he could tell the audience anything about Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which is Marvel Studios next big screen release and opens in theaters on April 4th. The film is a sequel to Captain America: The First Avenger and follows the events of the super hero team-up The Avengers. In classic Feige style he answered, “It’s opening in a few weeks so I don’t want to say too much but … would you like to watch the first 10 minutes of the film?”
What? Do we? Of course!!!
To my absolute delight, I then had the rare opportunity to be one of the first to view the opening ten minutes of the highly anticipated Marvel sequel. What follows is my breakdown of the footage along with a few spoilers, so if you don’t want to know what happens … consider yourself warned!
A TV spot for Captain America: The Winter Soldier piles on action and seriousness, showing off plenty of new footage from the sequel while appearing to reveal a mega-spoiler.
Principal photography on Avengers: Age of Ultron has begun earlier than we anticipated, kicking off production in South Africa.
The first Captain America: The Winter Soldier TV spot not designed for the Super Bowl plays up the ferociousness of Cap's new opponent, the eponymous Winter Soldier.
Yet another character poster, meanwhile, highlights the involvement of bona-fide movie legend Robert Redford.
Marvel Studios has administered some Super Soldier serum to the Captain America sequel's marketing campaign.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier debuted a solid, action-oriented new theatrical trailer as part of yesterday's football bonanza. In order to make sure Cap still has your attention, Disney has followed up with eight new images providing good looks at Steve's new patriotic costume, the supporting cast, and SPOILER (?) the identity of the Winter Soldier himself.
