This weekend I had a little bit of a reunion with some old friends. The years I worked at JoBlo.com, a few times we’d have some fun on the JoBlo Movie Podcast with the great Jim Law and Johnny Moreno. Well, these two kind gentlemen invited me back and we had one hell of a time.

The boys and I talked about everything from how cool Red is to The Rocky Horror Picture Show to Paranormal Activity and the joy of singing along with Grease. It is most definitely a conversation that goes all over the place. These two guys are two of my favorite people in the world, and it was such a pleasure to reconnect.

Rogue of the Week: Elizabeth Shue

Wednesday, 18 August 2010 21:25

It was so long ago. She was young and pretty and she said those words that made me smile.

“Don’t f*ck with the babysitter!”

And that was after the cutest little dance to “Then He Kissed Me” by The Ronettes at the beginning of one of greatest films to many a young film fan… Adventures in Babysitting.

Patricia Neal was the epitome of bravery and class. Best known for her Academy Award winning performance opposite Paul Newman in Hud, she was also a legend on Broadway.

At the very first Tony Awards in 1947, Neal won best featured actress in a play for her work in Lillian Hellman’s “Another Part of the Forest” when she was only 21-years-old. This soon led to a courtship of sorts with Hollywood where she enjoyed a long and impressive career.

George Gallo has had a very impressive career. It is one that has lasted several decades and offered up a couple of major hits including, Midnight Run and Bad Boys for which he served as screenwriter.

In 1991, he wrote and directed the very charming 29th Street starring Anthony LaPaglia. While it wasn’t a blockbuster, it proved that Gallo could tell a really good story when it came to directing. This began a long career as writer and director or other films throughout the years including Trapped in Paradise and Local Color.

'Let Me In' Promotion Hits Close to Home

Is it already Halloween?

You’d think so by the creepy message I received in the mail today.

A postcard was delivered at my doorstep, and there was something very odd about it. The picture is of Los Alamos, New Mexico and the postcard itself came from Ottowi Station Science Museum Shop and Bookstore from the same area. It is a pretty view with blue skies…

Clearly, that wasn’t the creepy part.

It's been a busy week here at iamROGUE. First off, we are making our very first trek to Comic Con. Yeah, we are gonna cause a little trouble! We'll be schmoozing, working the red carpet and who knows what else. Look for some awesome interviews in the next week or so as we are about to tackle the Con and beat it to a bloody pulp.

A little too aggressive perhaps?

That's okay, Con can take it. But keep your eyes wide open for iamRogue Goes Con.

Until then, you may want just a little taste…

Thanks to Yahoo, we've got a couple groovy Comic Con sneak peeks at exclusive posters for Marvel Studios and Paramount Pictures’ Captain America: The First Avenger and Thor. Both films are scheduled for a 2011 release.
