Guillermo del Toro is one of the most exciting filmmakers of our time. The question is, why would such an inventive man be involved in a remake of a 1973 made for TV horror flick?

Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark is a classic example of genuine chills and thrills. It also features a wonderful performance from Kim Darby as a woman terrorized by some creepy troll-like creatures. However, the film is dated and unless you are a hardcore horror fanatic like I am, you may not be very familiar with the original (even though you should be).

With del Toro producing, and the exciting and energetic Trey Nixey putting a fresh spin on the story, we could be in for something truly scary. After all, del Toro’s last horror film he produced happened to be The Orphanage. He is also one of the credited screenwriters on ‘Dark’.

Remake or not, iamROGUE is looking forward to being ‘Afraid of the Dark’ one more time!
