Comic book writer Sterling Gates has quickly become one of the top scribes in the industry. At the relatively young age of thirty, Gates has already penned an extremely successful run of "Supergirl," as well as issues of "Green Lantern Corps," "Superman: New Krypton," "World's Finest," and "Flashpoint: Kid Flash Lost," which he is currently working on. He has also frequently collaborated on projects for DC Comics with comic book legends like Jerry Ordway, James Robinson, Geoff Johns.

Born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma to the son of a local comic book store owner, Sterling was destined for a career in the comic book industry. He attended the University of Oklahoma and earned a degree in Fine Arts before moving to Los Angeles and obtaining a writer's assistant position on the short-lived TV series Blade. It was there where he met DC Comics Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns who took Gates under his wing, first as a personal assistant, and then later as his writing protege.
