EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: Cheryl Hines and Filmmaker Will Slocombe Talk 'Cold Turkey'

Currently on VOD, opening in Los Angeles theaters on November 15th, and New York theaters on November 22nd is Cold Turkey, which was written and directed by Will Solcombe (Crime Fiction). The film stars Cheryl Hines (Waitress), Sonya Walger (TV's Lost), Alicia Witt (88 Minutes), Wilson Bethel (TV's Hart of Dixie), Ashton Holmes (The Divide), Amy Ferguson (Garden State), Victoria Tennant (L.A. Story), and Peter Bogdanovich (The Last Picture Show).

IAR's Managing Editor Jami Philbrick recently had the pleasure of sitting down with Cheryl Hines and writer/director Will Solcombe to talk about their work on Cold Turkey. The filmmaker discussed his new movie, changing the title from Pasadena to Cold Turkey, the challenges of working with director turned actor Peter Bogdanovich, the plot of the film, and how it is loosely based on his own family life, while Hines talked about playing Bogdanovich's wife, his fantastic stories, what she learned about acting after directing her first movie - Serious Moonlight, why some family secrets should stay secret, and an average Thanksgiving at her house.

Thanksgiving get-together for the eccentric Turner clan goes from bad to worse when estranged daughter Nina (Witt) makes a surprise visit home for the first time in 15 years. Nina clashes with her stepmother Deborah (Hines), and sister, Lindsay (Walger), while half-brother Jacob (Bethel) tries to keep a massive gambling debt a secret. Meanwhile, family patriarch Poppy (Bogdanovich) has his own dramatic news to share. 

Cold Turkey is currently available on VOD, and opens in Los Angeles theaters on November 15th, and New York theaters on November 22nd.
