On Thursday, February 6th 2014 Academy Award-winning director Martin Scorsese (Goodfellas, Casino) and Academy Award-nominated actor Leonardo DiCaprio (The Aviator, The Departed) received the Cinema Vanguard Award at the 29th Santa Barbara International Film Festival for their acclaimed film The Wolf of Wall Street, as well as their body of work together. 

IAR's Managing Editor Jami Philbrick traveled to Santa Barbara, California to attend the 29th Santa Barbara International Film Festival and spoke with legendary director Martin Scorsese on the red carpet about receiving the Cinema Vanguard Award, working with Leonardo DiCaprio, and making The Wolf of Wall Street. The legendary filmmaker discussed why his directing approach works so well with DiCaprio's acting style, deciding to make The Wolf of Wall Street, and excepting the Cinema Vanguard Award with DiCaprio.

SYNOPSIS:

The Wolf of Wall Street 

Based on the true story of Jordan Belfort (Di Caprio), from his rise to a wealthy stockbroker living the high life to his fall involving crime, corruption and the federal government.

The 29th Santa Barbara International Film Festival runs January 30th - February 9th.
