On Saturday, February 8th 2014 Academy Award-nominee Bruce Dern (Coming Home) received the Modern Master Award at the 29th Santa Barbara International Film Festival for his acclaimed work in Nebraska, and his exceptional film career. 

IAR's Managing Editor Jami Philbrick traveled to Santa Barbara, California to attend the 29th Santa Barbara International Film Festival and spoke exclusively with legendary actor Bruce Dern on the red carpet about Nebraska, working with director Alexander Payne, and receiving the Modern Master Award. The Oscar-nominee discussed making Nebraska, collaborating with director Alexander Payne, his first reaction to reading the film's script, and and how it feels to be excepting SBIFF's Modern Master Award.

The 29th Santa Barbara International Film Festival runs January 30th - February 9th.
