Opening in select theaters on June 6th and wider in the following weeks is the new comedy Obvious Child from first time feature film writer and director Gillian Robespierre. The movie stars Jenny Slate (The Lorax), Jake Lacy (Intramural), Gaby Hoffman (Crystal Fairy), Richard Kind (The Angriest Man in Brooklyn), and David Cross (Kill Your Darlings).

IAR's Managing Editor Jami Philbrick recently had the pleasure of sitting down with director Gillian Robespierre and Jenny Slate to talk about their work on Obvious Child. The talented young filmmaker and actress discussed their new film, what they think about people calling it "The Most Winning Abortion-Themed Rom-Com Ever Made," if Slate knew that this would be a star making performance for her, why she wants to win a Tony and not an Oscar for her work, and the art of the fart joke.
