Currently playing at the 2014 Los Angeles Film Festival is the new thriller drama Supremacy from director Deon Taylor (Chain Letter). The film is inspired by a true story and stars Joe Anderson (The Grey), Danny Glover (Lethal Weapon), Derek Luke (Captain America: The First Avenger), Julie Benz (Answers to Nothing), and Anson Mount (Non-Stop).

IAR's Managing Editor recently had the pleasure of sitting down with director Deon Taylor at the Los Angeles Film Festival to talk about his work on Supremacy. The acclaimed filmmaker discussed his new movie, the true story it was inspired by, his initial thoughts after first reading the script, gathering the money for the project, casting the legendary Danny Glover, why he is one of the best actors of his generation, how Glover opened the door for many other actors, and working with him on Supremacy.

SYNOPSIS:

A just paroled white supremacist (Anderson) and his ruthless girlfriend (Benz) kill a cop and take an African American family hostage. Meanwhile, Sobecki (Mount), the heavily-tattooed supremacist leader who oversees his criminal empire from behind bars, is not thrilled when he learns of his charge's screw-up. The patriarch of the family, an ornery ex-con himself (Glover), must rely on his wit and understanding of the racist mind to find a plan to free his family, but not before he confronts his own brand of bigotry and anger.

Supremacy is currently playing at the 2014 Los Angeles Film Festival.
