Opening in theaters on July 2nd is the new horror crime thriller Deliver Us from Evil, which is loosely based on the book Beware the Night by NY police officer Ralph Sarchie. The movie was directed by Scott Derrickson (Sinister), produced by Jerry Bruckheimer (The Lone Ranger), and stars Eric Bana (Star Trek) as Sarchie, Edgar Ramirez (Point Break), Joel McHale (Ted), Sean Harris (Prometheus), and Olivia Munn (Freeloaders).

IAR's Managing Editor Jami Philbrick recently had the absolute pleasure of sitting down with Scott Derrickson and Ralph Sarchie to talk about their work on Deliver Us from Evil. The writer/director and police officer-turned-author discussed their new film, why Derrickson needed to spend time with Sarchie in order to write the screenplay, the most important details about his life that Sarchie wanted to make sure were included in the movie, balancing the project's different genres, casting Eric Bana as Sarchie, and why Derrickson didn't call Sarchie for help when his house was recently broken into.
