EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: Frank Grillo Talks 'The Purge: Anarchy' and 'Death Wish' Remake

Opening in theaters on July 18th is the new action thriller The Purge: Anarchy, which is a sequel to 2013's The Purge. The film was written and directed by James DeMonaco (The Negotiator), and stars Frank Grillo (Warrior, The Grey, Captain America: The Winter Soldier), Carmen Ejogo (Alex Cross), Zach Gilford (The Last Stand), Kiele Sanchez (A Perfect Getaway), Zoe Soul (Prisoners), Keith Stanfield (Short Term 12), Jack Conley (Fast & Furious), and Michael K. Williams (RoboCop). 

IAR's Managing Editor Jami Philbrick recently had the absolute pleasure of sitting down with "ROGUE regular" Frank Grillo to talk about his work on The Purge: Anarchy, as well as possibly starring in director Joe Carnahan's Death Wish remake. The accomplished actor discussed his new film, playing the lead in an action movie, the advice his friend Liam Neeson gave him, continuing to play the lead in action film's in the future, the movie's similarities to classic Westerns, and if it's true that he is in talks to play Charles Bronson's iconic role in a remake of Death Wish

A couple driving home (Gilford and Sanchez), a mysterious man seeking revenge (Grillo), and a mother (Ejogo) and daughter (Soul) running from assailants meet up as they attempt to survive Purge night in downtown Los Angeles. 

The Purge: Anarchy opens in theaters on July 18th. 

Death Wish is currently in development.
