EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: Writer/Director J.C. Chandor Talks 'A Most Violent Year'

Opening in theaters on December 31st is the new crime drama from acclaimed writer/director J.C. Chandor (Margin Call, All Is Lost) called A Most Violent Year, which has already earned early awards season buzz. The film stars Oscar Isaac (Inside Llewyn Davis), Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty), David Oyelowo (Middle of Nowhere), and Albert Brooks (Drive). 

IAR's Managing Editor Jami Philbrick recently had the absolute pleasure of sitting down with J.C. Chandor to talk about his work on A Most Violent Year. The extremely talented filmmaker discussed his new movie, the common themes it shares with Margin Call, how he created the plot, and despite the film's title - its lack of actual violence.

SYNOPSIS:

In New York City 1981, an ambitious immigrant (Isaac) fights to protect his business, wife (Chastain), and family during the most dangerous year in the city's history.

A Most Violent Year opens in theaters on December 31st.
