Available on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD beginning March 31st is the new science fiction adventure Interstellar, which was directed by Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight). The movie was written by Nolan and his brother Jonathan Nolan (The Dark Knight Rises), and produced by Thomas Tull (Godzilla) and theoretical physicist Kip Thorne. Interstellar stars Academy Award-winners Matthew McConaughey (Dallas Buyers Club), Anne Hathaway (Les Miserables), Michael Caine (The Cider House Rules), Ellen Burstyn (Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore), and Matt Damon (Good Will Hunting), Academy Award-nominees Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty), Casey Affleck (The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford), and John Lithgow (Terms of Endearment), as well as David Oyelowo (Selma), Wes Bentley (After the Fall), William Devane (Marathon Man), and Topher Grace (The Double).
IAR's Managing Editor Jami Philbrick recently had the pleasure of traveling to the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, CA and sitting down with Jonathan Nolan and Kip Thorne to talk about their work on Interstellar. The screenwriter and scientist discussed their recent film, how the Nolans got the idea for the project, Thorne's contributions to the film, and getting the science just right.
