Opening in theaters on April 22nd is the new film from writer/director/producer/actor Tyler Perry entitled Madea's Big Happy Family. The movie is based on Perry's play of the same name and is the sixth of his eleven films to feature his signature character, Mabel "Madea" Simmons. In addition to Tyler Perry, the film features an ensemble cast that includes Shad "Bow Wow" Moss (Lottery Ticket), Lauren London (ATL), Loretta Devine (Death At A Funeral), Isaiah Mustafa (Old Spice TV commercials), and singer-turned-actress Jill Scott. IAR's Jasmine Simpkins recently had an opportunity to sit down with the multi-talented Tyler Perry, as well as Shad "Bow Wow" Moss, and Isaiah Mustaf to discuss the new film, how the cast felt about working with the director, Perry's return to the Madea character, and his feelings towards director Spike Lee's criticism of his work.

SYNOPSIS: When Madea's (Tyler Perry) niece, Shirley (Loretta Devine), receives distressing news about her health, all she wants is to gather her three adult children around her and share the news as a family. But Tammy (Natalie Desselle-Reid), Kimberly (Shannon Kane) and Byron (Shad "Bow Wow" Moss) are too distracted by their own problems: Tammy can't manage her unruly children or her broken marriage; Kimberly is gripped with anger and takes it out on her husband; and Byron, after spending two years in jail, is under pressure to deal drugs again. It's up to Madea, with the help of the equally rambunctious Aunt Bam (Cassi Davis), to gather the clan together and make things right the only way she knows how: with a lot of tough love, laughter -- and the revelation of a long-buried family secret.

Madea's Big Happy Family opens in theaters everywhere on April 22nd.
