Currently in the middle of airing its first season on TNT is the new alien invasion series Falling Skies from executive producer Steven Spielberg (Close Encounters Of The Third Kind). The series features an excellent cast of actors that includes Noah Wyle (ER), Moon Bloodgood (Terminator Salvation), Seychelle Gabriel (The Last Airbender), Peter Shinkoda (Mortal Combat: Legacy), and  Will Patton (Remember the Titans). Actor Peter Shinkoda was recently kind enough to take some time out of his busy schedule to drop by the IAR studios to speak with managing editor Jami Philbrick about Falling Skies. Shinkoda spoke candidly about the series, his character, the aftermath of last week's episode, where the series is going, and the series' inevitable upcoming second season.

SYNOPSIS:

Falling Skies tells the story of the aftermath of an alien invasion that not only neutralizes the world's power grid and technology, but also destroys the combined militaries of all the world's countries in a short amount of time. It is alluded that over 90% of the human population is killed within a few days. The story picks up six months after the invasion, and follows a group of survivors who must band together in order to fight back. The group, known as the Second Massachusetts (an allusion to a Boston militia in the American Revolutionary War), is now led by the retired Captain Weaver (Patton) and Boston University history professor Tom Mason (Wyle) who, while in search of his son Ben, must put his extensive knowledge of military history into practice as one of the leaders of the resistance movement.

Falling Skies is currently airing its first season on TNT.
