Opening in theaters on July 15th is Winnie the Pooh, a brand new film from Walt Disney Animation Studios that features all your favorite classic characters including Tiger, Eeyore, Piglet, and of course .... Winnie the Pooh! The film was directed by Stephen Anderson (Tangled) and Don Hall, and features the voice talents of John Cleese (A Fish Called Wanda), Craig Ferguson (How to Train Your Dragon), Tom Kenny (SpongeBob SquarePants), Jim Cummings (Bee Movie), Travis Oates, Bud Luckey (Toy Story), and Kristen Anderson-Lopez. The movie also includes original music from the popular indie folk duo She & Him, which consists of guitarist M. Ward, and actress/singer Zooey Deschanel. IAR's managing editor Jami Philbrick recently had an opportunity to sit down and speak with the film's directors Stephen Anderson and Don Hall, as well as voice actors Tom Kenny and Jim Cumming, and song writer Robert Lopez along with his wife Kristen Anderson-Lopez, who is also the voice of Kanga. They spoke candidly about the film; its wonderful music, the legacy of these classic characters and the process of bringing Winnie the Pooh back to the big screen for a whole new audience.

Winnie the Pooh is based on three stories found in the A. A. Milne books. Two of the stories, "In Which Eeyore Loses a Tail and Pooh Finds One," and "In Which Piglet Meets a Heffalump," are from the 1926 book, Winnie-the-Pooh.  The other story, "In Which Rabbit Has a Busy Day and We Learn What Christopher Robin Does in the Mornings," is from '1928s The House on Pooh Corner.
