EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: 'Conan the Barbarian' Cast Interviews

Opening in theaters on July 19th is the new 3D movie Conan the Barbarian, which marks the return of author Robert E. Howard's classic character to the big screen. The sword and sorcery movie stars Jason Momoa (HBO's Game of Thrones) in the title role that was once portrayed by former California State Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, while the project was helmed by director Marcus Nispel (Friday the 13th). In addition to Momoa, the film features an impressive cast of actors that includes Rose McGowan (Grindhouse: Planet Terror), Rachel Nichols (Star Trek), Stephen Lang (Avatar), Said Taghmaoui (Spartan), Leo Howard (G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra), Bob Sapp (The Longest Yard), and the great Ron Perlman (Hellboy).

IAR's managing editor Jami Philbrick recently had a chance to sit down with with several members of the cast including Jason Momoa, Rose McGowan, Rachel Nichols, Leo Howard, and Ron Perlman to discuss the new film; its classic character, which source material the actors drew their inspiration from, the vast mythology that Robert E. Howard created, why Rose McGowan couldn't play Red Sonja, and the movie's surprise celebrity narrator.

SYNOPSIS:

After his father (Perlman) is murdered and his village is destroyed, Conan (Momoa) ventures into an unforgiving world where he survives as a thief, pirate, and warrior. On his path of wanton adventure and women, Conan chances upon the warlord responsible for his tribe's destruction. As he tracks Khalar Zym (Lang), Conan battles monsters, Zym's henchmen, and Marique (McGowan), a powerful witch.

Conan the Barbarian begins destroying theaters this Friday!!!
