Currently available on iTunes and VOD, and opening in theaters on July 6th is the new drama from acclaimed filmmaker Rob Reiner (Stand By Me, The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally, Misery) entitled The Magic of Belle Isle. The movie stars several actors who have worked with Reiner before including Academy Award-winner Morgan Freeman (The Shawshank Redemption, Million Dollar Baby, The Bucket List, The Dark Knight), Academy Award-nominee Virginia Madsen (Dune, Highlander II: The Quickening, Ghosts of Mississippi, Sideways), Kevin Pollack (Avalon, A Few Good Men, The Usual Suspects, Casino), and Fred Willard (This Is Spinal Tap, Best in Show, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, Wall-E).
IAR's Managing Editor Jami Philbrick recently had a chance to sit down with veteran filmmaker Rob Reiner to talk about his work on The Magic of Belle Islle, as well as the possibility of making a sequel to his classic mockumentary This Is Spinal Tap. The director discussed his new film, the common themes found in all his movies, reuniting with actors Morgan Freeman and Virginia Madsen, how technology has changed filmmaking, and why This Is Spinal Tap is the only one of his prior films that he would consider revisiting for a sequel.

Monte Wildhorn (Freeman) is a famous Western novelist whose struggle with alcoholism has sapped his passion for writing. He takes a lakeside cabin for the summer in picturesque Belle Isle, and befriends teh family next door - an acttractive single mom (Madsen) - and her young daughters who help him find inspiration.
The Magic of Belle Isle is currently available on iTunes and VOD, and opens in theaters on July 6th.
